Calheta Tourist Information

Calheta is a municipality in the south west of Madeira. It can be found west of Santana, Machico and Funchal, and is divided into eight parishes, namely Arco da Calheta, Calheta, Estreito da Calheta, Fajã da Ovelha, Jardim do Mar, Paúl do Mar, Ponta do Pargo and Prazeres.

Calheta is very popular with tourists and families because of its sandy beaches and crystal clear water. Many water activities are offered at Calheta's beach, including snorkeling, canoeing and windsurfing.
