Set in its own 80 acres on the very edge of the Yorkshire Wolds surrounded by green fields and lawns, Rudstone Walk Bed & Breakfast has a wonderful location enjoying spectacular views across the Humber Estuary, Vale of York and Lincolnshire Wolds - you can see York Minster on a clear day! Just 1 mile from the M62 with easy access to York, Hull, Beverley, Lincoln and all Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire has to offer Rudstone Walk provides a relaxing and peaceful retreat for both the business and leisure traveller.

The 400 year old Yorkshire farmhouse forms the heart of this unique establishment which dates back to the Doomsday Book when we believe the site was a small hamlet named Rud Tope.

Accommodation

Rudstone strikes a lovely balance of traditional English bed and breakfast with the polish and professional service of a more exclusive establishment. This unique ambience coupled with the fantastic location and views which extend some 50 miles across the Vale of York and Humber Estuary draw our guests back again and again. En-suite bedrooms and suites have been built around the spacious walled courtyard garden adjacent to the farmhouse. This accommodation provides 14 superior twin or double rooms for those requiring bed and breakfast. There is also the option of an adjacent sitting room and kitchen for a suite or self catering cottage. Woodland cottage has special facilities for the disabled traveller, 8 other en-suite rooms have ground floor access.

Breakfast

Breakfasts each morning are served in the restaurant with a wide selection of fruits, cereals and yoghurts as well as a delicious home cooked English Breakfast with toast and preserves.The premises are fully licensed and a comprehensive wine list is offered. We do ask that guests pre-book dinner each day if possible.Local attractions and things to do:

  • Bird watching - The Yorkshire Wildlife Trust has many sites in our area. The most famous of which is probably Spurn Point just an hour from Rudstone Walk.
  • Burnby Hall Gardens: Europe's largest collection of water lillies and lots of hide and seek pathways through the gardens. Approx. 10 minutes from Rudstone Walk.
  • Burton Agnes Hall and Gardens: Burton Agnes Hall and Gardens near Beverley is a lovely Elizabethan hall filled with treasures collected over 4 centuries. Beautiful walled gardens with games and quirky corners reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland. Open April - October. Approximately 20 minutes from Rudstone Walk.
  • Burton Constable near Hull contains a superb collection of Chippendale furniture, priceless stained glass and beautiful paintings. Landscaped by Capability Brown. Open March - October. Approx. 20 minutes from Rudstone Walk.
  • Castle Howard One of the countries finest historic houses. Open February - November. Approve 40 minutes from Rudstone Walk.
  • Old Hall, Gainsborough in Lincolnshire. One of the most impressive medieval houses in the country.
  • Sledmere House is open from April - September, it is one of Yorkshire's best kept secrets. Famous for its plasterwork and mighty pipe organ which is actually played for visitors at various times during the week.
  • Sewerby Hall is a good all round family day out complete with hall, gardens and a small children's zoo.
  • Towns within 40 minutes drive include York, Beverley, Selby, Bridlington and Hull which each have their own famous churches, minsters, landmarks, visitor attractions and museums not forgetting the huge selection of shopping.
  • The Heritage coast of East Yorkshire is just 30 minutes away with its towering cliffs, breathtaking scenery and sandy beaches.

Golf

Brough Golf Club (just 5 minutes from Rudstone Walk) provides an attractive and challenging course with a beautifully kept course.For something completely different try Beverley and East Riding Golf Club which is housed on the famous Westwood on the outskirts of Beverley, just 8 miles from Rudstone Walk. For those preferring coastal courses Bridlington has a links course.
