Blackpool in Lancashire is a famous seaside town and holiday destination, home to

to children's rides and golf, there is something for everyone at Pleasure Beach
Blackpool. There is the Pepsi Max Big One roller coaster, one of Europe's tallest
rollercoaster, Infusion where you will soar to amazing heights and be taken through
a whirlwind water experience to amaze and astound the senses, and the oldest ride
at Pleasure Beach - The Flying Machines, to name just a few. Come and see and experience

Blackpool SEA LIFE Centre
Blackpool SEA LIFE centre is located on Blackpool's Golden Mile between Central
Pier and Blackpool Tower and is home to over 1,000 assorted sea creatures including
one of the largest collections of tropical sharks in Europe. There are more than
fifty spectacular displays of the finest marine and freshwater creatures including
sharks, rays, seahorses and piranhas. Blackpool SEA LIFE centre takes visitors on
a journey through a magical underwater world from the coastline and sandy shallows
to the ocean depths. A highlight is the mighty ocean tank bursting with tropical
sharks and colourful reef fish whilst star of the show is the giant pacific octopus.
A sea-view cafe is the ideal area to relax, whilst children will love the soft play
area and the feeding demonstrations.
Blackpool Zoo
Blackpool Zoo is home to over 1,500 animals, birds and insects from all over the
world. Opened in 1972, Blackpool Zoo combines fun and wild animals to offer a family
day out like no other - providing education, conservation and play. From elephants,
giraffes, penguins and Piranha to name just a few of the 400 different species,
this fantastic collection represents all major climate areas and continents of the
world.
Blackpool Illuminations
Blackpool is famous for its illuminations and has been part of British life since
1879 and continues to be an electrifying experience for Blackpool's millions of
visitors. Often referred to as the greatest free show on earth, the brightest night
of all is the Big Switch On when thousands of people gather to see seat front lit
up. Seven miles of lights in total are illuminated which attract many visitors from
late August to early November to witness the magic and excitement of the Blackpool
Illuminations.

Blackpool International Airport
Blackpool International Airport operates regular charter and scheduled flights throughout
the UK and Europe. Blackpool International Airport is actually just over the borough
boundary into Fylde Borough. Blackpool International Airport is one of the oldest
airports in the UK and was previously known as Blackpool Squires Gate Airport. Airlines
currently serving Blackpool include Jet2, Manx2 and Aer Arann.
Trams in Blackpool
Blackpool's famous trams have been around since 1885 and it is one of the oldest
electric tramways in the world. The tram network is 12 miles long, stretching from
Squires Gate through Cleveleys and on to Fleetwood, and is ideal for exploring the
town and reaching one tourist attraction to another. Visitors often hop on a tram
for a trip between the 3 piers, and during the Blackpool Illuminations, circular
tours of the sparkling seafront scene can be enjoyed on special trams.
Shopping in Blackpool
Blackpool offers a fantastic shopping experience with a wide variety of High Street
names and independent shops - a great place for some retail therapy. The new Houndshill
Shopping Centre in the centre of the resort offers all the big retailers under one
roof, from H&M to Debenhams, Primark and Next. Scattered around the town centre
are plenty of boutique and speciality shops offering designer labels, high-class
jewellery and art. Whilst for more specialised items the local markets offer unique
items and fresh food from across the region.
Eating out in Blackpool
Blackpool has a wide range of delicious eating places to suite all tastes, from
authentic eateries serving top cuisine from across the world to the traditional
seaside fish and chip. There are plenty of small and friendly coffee shops and vibrant
bistros to award-winning fine dining establishments with growing national reputations.

Between early September and November you can see the famous Blackpool Illuminations
and this is an annual tradition. The trams which run along the seafront are also
covered in lights!
