Jersey Tourist Information

Jersey is the most southerly island of the British Isles. Jersey is only 14 miles (22 km) from the coast of France so the weather is mild. It is a great destination for a family holiday and there are lots of tourist attractions and sandy beaches to keep everyone entertained.

Family Days out on Jersey

The Amaizin Maze at La Hougue Farm in Saint Peter is great for families with young children. Other family activities include days at one of Jersey's sandy beaches or walks to take in the beautiful scenery. Boat trips, cycling tours, coach tours and day trips are available to one of Jersey's neighbouring islands. The variety of activities available will keep you all busy during your family holidays in Jersey!

Sport on Jersey

Jersey participates in both the Commonwealth Games (held every 4 years) and in the Island Games (held twice a year). Jersey has its own football association, which hosts the annual Muratti competition. Another established event is the Jersey marathon. Popular sports in Jersey also include cricket, cycling, golf, horse racing, motor sports, rugby, swimming and pétanque. Jersey is the perfect place to spend your golf holidays, with a number of golf courses and ranges: La Moye Golf Club (St. Brelade), Royal Jersey Golf Club (Grouville), Les Ormes Leisure Village (St. Brelade), Les Mielles Golf & Country Club (St. Peter), Wheatlands Golf Course (St. Peter) and the Longueville Golf Range (St. Clement).

Shopping on Jersey

There are plenty of shops all over the Channel Islands, but the most popular shopping destination is St. Helier on Jersey. There is also Morrisons Superstore La Vallee Des Vaux, a very large supermarket. Jersey Pearl offers the largest amount of pearl jewellery of the Channel Islands.

You can shop VAT free on the Channel Islands.

Nightlife on Jersey

There are a few nightclubs and bars located on Jersey, for example the Liquid & Envy, Chambers, Varda, Club 72, La Cala, The Havana Club, Watersplash and Platinum.

Transport on Jersey

Jersey Airport (JER) in the parish of Saint Peter has regular flights to and from Jersey. Jersey Airport is served by Aer Lingus, Air Berlin, Aurigny Air Services, Blue Islands, Bmibaby, British Airways, CityJet, EasyJet, Flybe, Jet2.com, Lufthansa, Manx2 and Sata Internacional.

There are buses running across the island to bring you to almost every destination on Jersey.

Ferries operate between Guernsey and Jersey, the UK and France.
