torteval, guernsey tourist information

Torteval is the smallest and westernmost parish on Guernsey, Channel Islands. The parish is split in two parts by St Peters Parish; the main part is called Torteval and the detached part is called Pleinmont-Torteval. 
 
The south coast of Torteval is composed of rugged cliffs. In the northwest of the parish, at the southern end of Rocquaine Bay, there is a fishing harbour called Portelet.
 

Must See and Do Tourist Attractions in Torteval

In Torteval's centre you will find a church built in 1818, which contains one of the oldest bells on the Channel Islands and also the tallest steeple in Guernsey.
The Pleinmont Observation Tower and the Table des Rions (also called The Fairy Ring) are also worth a visit during your stay in Torteval.
 
The Torteval Scarecrow Festival in August is an interesting experience for adults as well as children, where you walk around the paths of Torteval in search of your favourite scarecrow.
