We had wanted to visit the Berwyns and the West Arms seemed like a good place to start. It absolutely came up to expectations. The food was superb as we had anticipated. Sitting with our pre-dinner drinks and canapes in front of the fire in the fire was a lovely start to the evening - and carried on afterwards with coffee. The staff were all cheerful and friendly and we felt very much at home. I would be happy to recommend the West Arms to anybody. We had gone to the Ceiriog valley primarily for a walking weekend - some of the trails are badly rutted with 4x4 and trail bikes. Off the beaten track the footpaths are difficult to follow - we found a GPS essential ( well it was misty as well).

We had a great time at the West Arms, from the time we were shown to our room where an anniversary card and chamapgne were waiting, to the time we left. Our two old english sheepdogs were made very welcome and enjoyed several hours sat in front of the fire enjoying the attention of staff, visitors and other residents. The food was great too. We'll definitely be back!

Stayed here for a few nights. On arrival warm welcome and were taken to our room. The decor was a little tired but still very cosy, clean and homely. The food was lovely and there is alot of variety to choose from. The staff were lovely and welcoming, went out their way to get the alcohol we drank. The surroundings are lovely, with plenty of lovely views. Will defo stay there again, as to sum it up, it was lovely, lovely lovely.
