Wensum Lodge Hotel is located in the heart of Norfolk 3 minutes walk away from the busy market Town of Fakenham. We hold a Three Star classification from the English Tourist Board and have also been awarded a RAC Three Star rating.

We are a privately owned and managed ‘country hotel in the town’ formally part of an old Mill dating back to around 1750. Our setting enjoys the clear waters of the River Wensum flowing passed the hotel’s front terrace and on under the ancient bridge. A small stream also flows through the rear garden of the hotel. We offer complimentary fishing for our guests by the River Wensum on our doorstep - our chef will cook anything you catch!

Our location offers you the easy access to the beautiful beaches of the North Norfolk coast, and the medieval cities of Norwich and Kings Lynn.

We have 17 en-suite bedrooms, many recently refurbished to complement the oak beamed ground floor of the hotel, providing our guests with a stay that is as comfortable as it is relaxing.

Each room offers satellite television, a private telephone, beverage making facilities, personal iron and ironing board, wireless internet access and dvd players (from 1st April 2009).

The Wensum Lodge Hotel, Norfolk, can cater for up to 200 people. We also have a private function room available for smaller parties. Our Christmas parties are a speciality.

    Although we only stayed overnight, we were made most welcome and nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. We felt as though we were old friends. I would highly recommend the hotel.

    A very comfortable and friendly hotel. We were given a twin room having booked a double, however the room was excellent and very clean and warm. A generous discount was given and greatly appreciated. The beds were very comfortable with clean modern bedding. The breakfast was very tasty and freshly cooked. We really enjoyed staying here and would recommend the hotel to anyone.

    This was an overnight stay after visiting Thursford Show. I was with Mr & Mrs Taylor and they share my views. This was our third visit to the hotel and we were delighted with the refurbishment, much better service and a lovely Christmas meal with roast potatoes like we had not had before! All staff were very helpful and welcoming - the atmosphere of the whole hotel being so much better than we had experienced in the past - could have stayed for the rest of the week. The location is excellent for visting Thursford and we enjoyed our walk around the town the following morning.

    far away from the place where we live, but its was nice, quiet, clean, good breakfasts, nice town close by...
