  Location was perfect for me as I came to a conert which was held in The Rock City next door. Room was clean enough, but the bathroom was dirty. It hasn't been cleaned up after a last customer. There were sanitary towels still in the bin which was pretty nasty and unhigenic. Food in the restaurant was very good, however waiter wasn't always carefully listening to the order and my requests weren't fulfilled.

  We chose the Welbeck as we were attending an event at Nottingham Rock City.The hotel is situated just a five minute walk from Rock City so was ideal. Reception staff were very nice and helpful. We booked a superior king room, the room was very big and the bed was huge, a little hard though. The bathroom was basic but fine, a bit dark and the water for the shower wasn't very hot. The room was very cold and we couldn't get the heating to work. I'm sure if we had called reception they would have sorted it, but we were in a rush so didn't bother. Parking was £10 not £5 as stated in the website, however we had the space until 1pm the next day so can't grumble. We would stay again as the location was good, but not really suitable for a special stay i.e anniversary birthday etc....

  We stayed at the hotel so that my daughter to go to a gig at rock city which literally is next door! We were very pleasantly surprised because the quality of the hotel wasnt really a motive for booking there but the ease of attending the gig was. The hotel was immaculate, the rooms cosy, warm and clean. The decor relaxing, the breakfast service was very personal and fresh food and the staff very friendly, kind and cheery! Would def stay again and recommend to everyone!

  I use this hotel for a night most weeks. I find the beds and bedding comfortable, and as a smoker, I appreciate being able to get a smoking room. The rooms themselves are fine, a little 'tired' perhaps, but perfectly acceptable given the price. I have not used the restuarant facilities, so have no comment to make about that.

  We chose to stay here as it was next door to Rock City, where we were going that night. The room was a good size, but freezing upon arrival (the window was open on a cold November evening). The heating was not very efficient, although the room did warm up a little. The bed was comfy and large. The bathroom was a bit tired and needs updating. The shower, in particular, was a problem - it left a lot of water all over the bathroom floor. I think brekfast should have been included for the price. I was pleased to get a discount on parking in the multi-storey car park opposite.

  We had booked tickets to see Steel Panther at Rock City. Your hotel was recommended on Rock City's website, so being close we automatically booked it. The car park was a good plus point as well for me. When we arrived and saw how close it was we were very pleased. A friendly welcome on reception and a lovely comfortable room for our stay. The next morning breakfast in the rooftop restaurant was excellent making the stay a really wonderful one. Thanks very much, think we'll certainly be back when visiting again for a concert.

  The hotel is an excellent location in the centre of Nottingham, especially for Rock City which is within 100 yards (but too far away for any noise problems!!). There is a car park literally next door and with a discount voucher obtained from the hotel reception this only worked out at £5 for an overnight stay. The staff on reception were very helpful and friendly. We did not eat at the hotel but visited the bar on the 5th floor which is very good both in looks and service. The bedroom we stayed in was clean and a decent size but the decor was a little tired and not up to the standard of say a Jurys Inn or equivalent. Overall for £70 for a double room in a popular city centre it was good value and we would definitely stay there again especially if going to Rock City.

  Convieniently situated next to a 24 hr car park. On Arrival We received A warm welcome at Check in from a very attentative member of staff, we arrived 1 hr early but he managed to check us in within 10 minutes.Rooms were basic but comfortable, clean to a reasonable standard.I was concerned about the location (at the back of Rock City Night Club), but I had a good nights sleep as sound proofing was more than adequate. One complaint that I do have is that we received a voucher for reduced rate parking but was informed that it expires at 9 am, we checked out at 11 am so ended up paying the usual 24 hr parking rate.

  On arriving to the Welbeck, it was disappointing to hear that we could check-in but the rooms were not ready so we would have to come back again to drop of our bags. This messed up the schedule of our day and we had to waste time sitting around for our room. I am aware that the hotel was busy and there had been an apparent problem with the cleaning of the rooms, but regardless of whether or not the rooms are clean I would have liked to at least been able to drop our bags of somewhere Despite this our room was nice, but wasn't impressed with the apparent lack of organisation regarding check-in..

  I had misled myself, or been misled by the website into thinking there was parking on site. In fact it was next door at NCP where the hourly day rate is £1.40. However reception arranged a better deal for me and, despite it being after 10pm was happy and helpful. They also directed me to where I could get some food & continued to be helpful throughout my stay. The room was huge. The night remarkably quiet for a city. One bedside light did not work-the bathroom was in need of minor repairs, but everything in there worked-sorry reception I should have reported it. Very easy walking to the city centre and the directions to get me out of the city really worked. I will use the Welbeck again

  Spend a night at this small, family run Hotel and had a very pleasant stay at the end of March 2012 . It is a 5 minute walk away from the pedestrianised city centre and close to the Nottingham Symphony Hall. It doesn't have the bleak corporate design so many hotels have nowadays but instead has a comfy, nicely furnished bedroom with all the usual things you would expect and also has a very welcoming restaurant/bar on the top floor with fabulous views. Enjoyed a sumptious evening meal and drinks and had the most wonderful cooked to order breakfast. If there is any complaint then it would be that the full english breakfast served is far too much. Will definitely be back next time.

  This is the fourth time we have stayed here. This time, the receptionist was brusque, and unhelpful with regard to our newspaper vouchers, which she said "'he' would not accept". The breakfast guy was good and friendly. The room has a massive bed. The heating was inadequate, but as only 5 or 6 rooms were occupied, maybe they needed to save money. We have stayed here because it is very close to the Royal Centre. It is clean and a good place to stay if you need to use the chain restaurants or the theatre or concert hall or the night clubs. It is relatively cheap also, and you get good value. For us, it is getting a bit samey, and the car park costs a lot if you stay for a few hours on either side of the free overnight bit.

  A lovely hotel, in walking distance of plenty of good restaurants and night clubs (especially Rock City). We had no problems at all with our stay; the room, the en-suite and the facilities were excellent. We found it was really good value for money. If I were to change one thing, it would be the overnight parking fees, as they were quite expensive. However, the carpark was right outside the hotel, and it was reassuring to know that the car was in a safe and nearby place. I would definitely stay again.

  We were at hotel fior Family Party Food was very good, Room was good but hotel was let down by attention to detail 1 Room was very cold - Air conditioning did not warm up told to "try it slowly" Eventually moved to another room where it took 14 hours to bring room up to 20 degrees 2 We booked B & B but resteraunt has us down for room only. It took a trip to reception with booking slip to get Breakfast included 3 Web site said " Discount Car parking at adjacent Multistorey." When I enquired "what do we do?" I was told "just get a token" This I did, but on departure I said to my wife " Can you carry case to Car Park?" whereupon receptionist said " Oh are you in carpark? - you need this" and handed us a "Discount voucher" Had I not said any thing to my wife we would have paid full charges despite asking the day before "What do we do?"

  I have stayed at the Welbeck a number of times now. I find the staff friendly and very helpful. This visit I had to change a couple of things round on my booking and it was done without fuss. The location is great and it is less than a five minute walk to The Corner House, where you will find a wide range of bars and restaurants plus a cinema complex and casino. this is a popular well used hotel, and if you look you will find the odd mark on the carpet or a gap in the silicone around the bath but the rooms are large and the beds comfortable, and despite being next door to Rock City rock club we heard no noise at all. for a value for money break to Nottingham I would stay here every time

  The room was good, but very cold a key was put into the slot to enable the room to warm up, which did not work. The coffee facilities were lacking as there was only one packet of biscuits for two people. The shower dispenser was empty.

  Represents very good value for money compared to other larger chains. Also has parking next door which many city centre hotels do not have in Nottingham. Only slight disappointment is that the bar was not open, but it was 4:30pm.

  We wanted a cheap room to stay in after a night out at rock city and found the perfect place! Virtualy next door to the venue it was perfect for us. It was clean, tidy and staff were great. We had a good nights sleep in the very big and comfortable bed and a warm powerful shower in the morning. We weren't disturbed by the venue either as it was closed well before midnight. We had a very pleasant walk to the hotel from the station, through the centre of the city, we could have got the tram but wanted to take a look around. Would highly recomend, everything you need at a very resonable price.

  We have stayed here many times in the past 5 years, and the hotel and facilities have always been excellent, however on this occasion the cleanliness of the room wasn't as good. The bed didn't look properly made and the linen was torn. Apart from this we enjoyed our stay.

  I chose this hotel as its near to Rock City but little did I realise just how conveniently located it was, not just for the venue but the car park - no more than 50 yards between all 3. I didn't even take a coat to Rock City! The restaurant and room service were quick and staff sociable enough although the chap on the desk when we checked in could have a been a little more cheerful and welcoming. Overall, pretty good value for a city centre hotal but in any event I will definitely stay again because of the location.

  The Welbeck hotel is a clean, well organised hotel with friendly staff and a willingness to help. The hotel is well placed for Nottingham city centre and the view from the sunny, spacious breakfast room on the 7th floor is great.

  This is the 2nd time that I have stayed at this hotel. The bar/restaurant on the top floor is really lovely, nice plasma screen tellies in the room, and just a 3 minute walk to the tram stop, or less than 10 minutes to the main Market Square. Easy to miss when driving as is hidden on the left, so you can't see it until you are there, and it's on a one-way street. Really should have remembered this from last year...
