The Postchaise Hotel dates back to the 17th century when it was a Coaching Inn and has been a favourite for both locals and visitors for hundreds of years. Previously known as The Kings Head Hotel, the name was changed to the Postchaise Hotel in the 1970's. Located in County Durham, Postchaise Hotel in Bishop Auckland now provides modernised en-suite accommodation and all bedrooms have now undergone extensive refurbishment. Bedrooms are available as a single, double or treble room type.

The Postchaise Hotel has been a favourite for both locals and visitors for hundreds of years and was originally known as The Kings Head Hotel. The history of this public house dates back to the 17th century when it was a Coaching Inn, with the old Mews now providing modernised accomodation.


The name was changed to the Postchaise Hotel in the 1970's and the new owners are now PDW Enterprises Ltd, who have made major alterationsand improvements to the business. The Postchaise now boasts a Bar, Hotel Accommodation and a Nightclub & Restaurant.


The Hotel is constantly improving and the current owners are now planning and building an external smoking area undercover for the new smoking ban which came into effect in 2007.


All bedrooms have now undergone extensive refurbishment and there are 14 letting rooms available, of which there are singles, doubles and trebles, all en-suite.
