Swallow Fishers Hotel was built in 1830 and is set in two acres of gardens; the hotel is located in the centre of the small Victorian town of Pitlochry in Perth And Kinross, seven miles from the famous Queen's View. The hotel's 129 guestrooms feature wooden furnishings and co ordinated fabrics and many offer views of the picturesque surrounding area. Amenities include televisions, wireless Internet connections, direct dial phones, tea and coffee making facilities, trouser presses and en-suite bathrooms with hairdryers and toiletries. Guests can enjoy the two acres of gardens or relax with a drink in one of three bars, including the popular Kingfisher Pub. Guests can also dine on traditional cuisine in the Restaurant with large bay windows and period features. Guests with business needs can make use of the meeting rooms and conference facilities and those planning a celebration will benefit from the ballroom which can accommodate up to 150 people; the hotel is also licensed for civil marriage ceremonies. Staff at the 24 hour front desk can advise guests on local attractions and parking is available for guests arriving by car. The unspoilt Victorian town of Pilochry is surrounded by hills, lochs, rivers and glens offering adventure sports, fishing and walking. Pitlochry Festival Theatre is just 600 metres from the hotel and the Edradour Distillery, reputed to be the smallest distillery in Scotland, is two miles away. Edinburgh Airport is 66 miles away with an approximate driving time of 90 minutes. Please Note Due to renovation work there is currently scaffolding around the hotel, and guests may have to use an alternative entrance. Work will be carried out during the daylight hours Monday to Friday, and disruption to guests will be kept to a minimum. The refurbishment is expected to be completed in autumn 2008.
