St. Pierre Park Golf Course Guernsey
When Tony Jacklin designed the St. Pierre Park Golf Course in Guernsey his aim was to build a 9 hole golf course with testing par 3 holes that would sharpen up a Golfer's short game. There is an abundance of water on the course strategically placed to catch the unwary and this combined with land sloping away from the greens means that to have a good round you are required to be on the green or very close by - anything else results in a score of 5 or 6 or something even worse!! - this is a short but testing golf course!. Whilst a full set of golf clubs is not a necessity, the average club golfer will need to use on some of the holes, a five and in windy conditions a three iron to reach the greens, many 9 hole golf courses are simply pitch and putt but not the St Pierre Park Hotel, Guernsey, Channel Islands. On certain of the holes there are two tee boxes giving an entirely different approach to the green and therefore adding to the variety and interest of this very picturesque and demanding golf course. No handicap is required to play on this golf course.
