The hotel was in a good position for either walking into Torquay or going sightseeing further afield.
The dining room was clean and spacious and the staff cleaned the tables as soon as you finished. We only had breakfast but the food was good and plentiful.
Our room was cleaned every day and overall we had a good stay.

The food was excellent with a good choice.
The main issue was in obtaining any licensed beverage after Midnight.
The Cabaret room only started at between 9.15 and 9.30 and ended no later than 10.30
I have no doubt that due to cost factors live backing musicians could not be employed.

Great food excellent choice for both evening meal and breakfasts are all you could want. The staff were dressed very smart and were very poliet and service was very efficient during meals. Only down side was the bathroom as it had a broken mixer tap for shower/bath and bath stained with white bleech marks emphasising this plus there seem to be a shortage of hot water during certain peak times which meant having a cold shower with very little or no water pressure.

Rest of the room and facilities were clean and in good working order which made our stay comfortable and enjoyable the only down side was lots and lots of stairs to keep going up and down to our room. The evening although limited was good and comedians were extremely funny so much so i bought a dvd. I would def go back again.

Just got back from a stag weekend in Torquay, After reading some reviews I wasnt hoping for much from the hotel but very pleased to say was actually pretty damn good. Fave things beautiful eastern European girl at breakfast time, Friendly helpful night security generally a nice feel to the place. Only thing I didn't like the Breakfast manager a very camp English chap just had no customer service skills and he swanned around not doing much.

Recently spent the weekend at the Rainbow and had a great time. The staff were really friendly and made us feel most welcome. The location is perfect, five minutes to the seafront and about ten minutes to town. Great weekend :)

We often stay at this hotel on our visits to Torquay. The fact that we return time after time should speak volumes. It has always been found to be very clean and comfortable with excellent facilities and friendly and helpful staff. Add to this the wonderful choice of food beautifully cooked and the most reasonable costs....Where else would we stay other than the Rainbow.

This was yet again another super short break at a very welcoming hotel. From the time of booking in until the time of leaving we were met with professionalism on all counts, no matter what the request was for. The food is excellent value, rooms very comfortable and all is kept amazingly clean. You do not have to go out at night as the in-house entertainment is really good and bar prices comparable to the pubs around. We are booked in on a bargain break in October and look forward to it.

Ok, so it's not the Ritz, but neither are the prices. The room was clean, although decor needs attention. Food was varied and plentiful, and a spacious, bright dining room to eat in. Prices for a 3 night stay more than represent value for money, and the location is ideal. Just a tip to management: An extra toast machine for breakfast would reduce the queues.

Hiya, Just wanted to say thanks to all the staff for a very enjoyable and comfortable stay last week. A friend recommended your hotel to me and I in turn will recommend you to others. The staff were all very efficient and courteous...getting on with their work in the background but always available if required...top marks. We were upgraded to a larger room which, although it could have done with a bit of TLC, was very comfortable. Once again please pass on my thanks to your staff.

The breakfast was lovely very fresh and hot - couldn't get better value for money and i'm a fussy person. Had a great stay I definately recomend it!!!

The Rainbow Hotel was pleasant enough - we were there for my brother's birthday and to watch the football in town. The receptionist was very welcoming and polite. The room was clean but needs modernising - whilst it had a flat screen TV and the usual coffee/tea making facilities, the decor doesn't seem to have been touched since the 70's. The bathroon suite in particular is something I'd expect in my grandparents house.

But we didn't pick the Rainbow for it's 'boutique' qualities; we chose it because it was cheap and it was close to the town centre. It did it's job superbly.

Only disappointment was that the bar wasn't open longer - we had to sneak into the attached 'nightclub' to persuade the bar staff to give us a night cap...
