The Newton Hotel is housed in an imposing building converted from a 19th century stately home, set within 21 acres of parkland and gardens and located 400 metres from the beach and golf course. The hotel's 56 guestrooms have contemporary blue and white decor with patterned bed fabrics and matching curtains, cherry wood furniture, including writing desks and coffee tables, and blue upholstered armchairs. All rooms include satellite television, wireless Internet connections, complimentary newspapers and bathrooms with shower/tub combinations, hair dryers and complimentary toiletries. The two restaurants offer either a la carte or set menu options and both have traditional decor in keeping with the rest of the building. A full Scottish breakfast is available in the mornings. The hotel bar offers a wide selection of ales and spirits and features a lounge with armchairs and sofas. Conferences and social receptions can be accommodated in the hotel's eight function rooms, the largest of which can hold up to 500 people. Cawdor Castle, a 14th century private fortress with 17th century extensions, housing a golf course and a collection of art and artefacts, is five miles from the hotel. Loch Ness, a 23 mile body of water that is rumoured to be home to a prehistoric monster, is 30 miles from the hotel. Inverness Airport is eight miles from the hotel, with an approximate driving time of 15 minutes.
