The Kingston Lodge stands just a quarter of a mile from one of London's greatest areas of greenery, Richmond Park and within easy reach of local attractions and central London, just over a mile from the A3. The Kingston Lodge has its origins in 1624 when Thomas Tiffin built an Inn to house the spectators of the popular public hangings which took place on Kingston Hill, then known as Gallows Hill.

The Atrium Brasserie is a conservatory style room which offers a menu of popular wines and an excellent choice of wines. The Bar is open from 11am, to serve you a comprehensive bar menu from sandwiches, snacks and main meals. With comfortable seating and fireplaces, you can relax and enjoy sporting events shown on the large plasma screen TV. Seating is available on the terrace and courtyard, where you can dine al fresco, if fine.

Kingston Lodge Location and Local Attractions

For an airport stopover with more character, you can stay with Kingston Lodge, just 35 minutes from London Heathrow Airport. Attractions in the area include Hampton Court Palace, which is set in sixty acres of gardens and provides a living tapestry of history from Henry VIII to George II. Nearby Kew Gardens is one of the world's finest botanic gardens with three hundred acres containing collections of over 40,000 varieties of plants, seven glasshouses and two art galleries. To keep the family entertained all day, Thorpe Park offers a range of rides and attractions to provide fun and laughter for youngsters as well as extreme thrills.

One of the more unusual sights in Kingston is several disused red telephone boxes that have been tipped on their sides in a pattern resembling dominos. This sculpture by David Mach was commissioned in 1988, and is called 'Out of Order'. Another recent novelty is the Toilet Gallery, a minimalist art gallery housed in an ex-public lavatory near the Phone Box sculpture.
