The Whitehall Hotel is a superbly restored Elizabethan Manor House, overlooking the picturesque north-west Essex countryside. The hotel’s Whitehall Restaurant is famous for serving some of the finest dishes in the country, providing a fantastic selection of freshly prepared cuisine. Meals are served in the magnificent surroundings of the 15th Century dining hall, where you’re sure to enjoy a memorable dining experience.
Whitehall Hotel is perfect for weddings, conferences and private functions, with the Elizabethan Barn Suite able to host up to 120 people. There are also three other conference and banqueting rooms ideal for accommodating smaller informal meetings.

Room Information:
There are 26 individually furnished and well appointed bedrooms, all are in keeping with the historic atmosphere of the hotel. Some bedrooms have views over the gardens and lawns and the neighbouring village church.
The Hotel has five twin rooms, 15 double Rooms, five superior rooms and the penthouse suite. Five of the rooms can be used as family rooms. All rooms have en-suite bathrooms, television, radio, hospitality tray, hairdryer, iron and ironing board.
Conference Facilities:
Whitehall Country Hotel and restaurant is an ideal venue for conferences, having close proximity to Stansted Airport and with excellent links to the M11 and M25 the hotel is very well located for today's business user
The elegant Barn Suite offers a capacity of up to 120 theatre style with the Audley offering 30, the Butler Suite offering 20 and the smaller Club Room accommodating 12 delegates. All conference and banqueting rooms have the advantage of natural daylight.
Our competitive 24hr and Day Delegate Packages are available, although our expert conference team can tailor our services to meet your specific needs and requirements.
Some team building activities can take place on the lawns at the rear of the hotel. BBQs on the terrace can also be arranged for conferences during the summer months
Free on site parking is available for 70 cars.
Restaurant/Dining:
The award winning 15th Century timbered restaurant overlooks the gardens and attractive terrace. Head Chef, Clinton Webb and his team produce fine, freshly prepared food using mostly local produce and the restaurant has been awarded numerous AA Rosettes.
A varied bar menu is served in our pleasant bar or lounge area or during the summer months can be served on the delightful terrace overlooking the gardens.
Children's menus and room service are also available.
Wedding Venue:
The Barn Suite and the Butler Suite are both licensed for the solemnization of civil marriages. There is a charge of approximately £250 for the use of either of these rooms for a civil ceremony, and it is a requirement that the wedding reception is also held in the hotel.
Whitehall Country Hotel and restaurant is approved by Uttlesford District Council for such ceremonies.
The hotel can cater for up to 120 for a wedding reception and room hire charges start from £200. Wedding reception menus start from £27.00, with evening buffet menus from £9.50.
The hotel offers a magnificent setting for both ceremonies and wedding receptions. The enchanting vaulted timbered Barn Suite can accommodate up to 120 guests, although the equally delightful Butler Suite is available for smaller more intimate weddings.
