the steep hallway you first encounter isn't that inspiring but the rooms are so beautiful and the people who run it are really lovely and down to earth. and the location couldn't be better.

Stayed here while meeting up with friends in the area. Convenient spot (but a little noisy on a weekend), friendly staff and a fairly comfy room - everything you need!

The Hotel itself is very convenient for anything you want to do around the Aldgate East / Liverpool st. Spitalfields area, especially Brick Lane itself, which has an amazing range of curry restaurants. There is amazing street food availableduring the day from Polish Sausages, Sri Lankan dishes, Jamaican Jerk chicken, Chinese etc and some nice pubs too. The Hotel seems to have been recently renovated to a good standard. The rooms are quite spacious, with modern chairs, furniture and bathroom. The Receptionist was very nice and helpful. The only thing that stops me giving the hotel 5/5 is that the pillows were a little thin, and only one each, I had to bulk mine out with a towel! Oh, and avoid weekends.... We stayed on a friday and the noise of party goers and night owls from outside kept us awake, which was then followed by the very very noisy street cleaning machine which sounded like a jet powered machine (it did a great job of cleaning the streets though!) Basically the hotel is very good, and if you don't go when there are night events going on in brick lane, i'm sure it would be great.

lovely welcome. Very clean room. Ideal for Spitalfield/Shoreditch and Brick Lane. Only niggle is the TV reception is awful with Freeview freezing and making it unwatchable. Could do with two pillows and a mat on the floor of the bathroom as shower results in a puddle! Staff lovely.

The room was clean and nice and not too small, exept the bathroom, which was quite small, but nice and clean as well. We think, the last refurbishing was not too long ago and the furniture and the deco was a little bit Ikea style, which is okay for us and the price we paid. The guy on the reception was very friendly. The room was clean, as I said before, but this was when we arrived. In the four nights/five days nothing was done in the room, neither anything was cleaned nor the rubbish bin was emptied. We got one fresh towel after two nights, just one, although we were two persons. Paying with credit card was at least not possible, and the breakfast was too small for the five pound you have to pay. Save that money for any café nearby. For four nights it was okay, if you stay longer, ask the guy at the reception for a vacuum cleaner... Brick Lane on weekend is really excellent, if you like markets with goods and foods from all over the world, a lot of people and a lively nightlife. On weekdays it seems a little bit battered and grungy.

Brick Lane Hotel is not your average hotel. On the first floor there is a resturant (did not get to try it), and the entrance to the hotel is in the back. A small door leads up a staircase, to an even smaller reception. There is no sauna, training room, swimming pool, pay TV, room service or any of the other facilities you might be used to at hotels. What you get is a room, and if that is what you need, then this is a perfect hotel for you! The rooms seems brand new. Everything is nice, clean and in top condition. Comfortable beds, clean bathrooms and air condition. The people working there are polite and friendly and there is really nothing bad to report. Brick Lane is one of the most unique streets and areas of London, and if you want to explore it, it would probably take a few days to do so. Brick Lane Hotel is a perfect place to stay when doing that.

This is a nice clean hotel in a good location. In the middle of Brick Lane and very close to the trendy Shoreditch, a couple of minutes from Liverpool station, this is a hotel that has everything at its doorstep. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are comfortable and clean and it is quiet.

“I have travelled in London before and have always found...”
    By John P, Murray
I have travelled in London before and have always found the rooms to be very small. Which is why I was so pleasantly surprised when I got here. For the price I payed I give this B&B a 10 out of 10 without a doubt. Rooms were big, it was spotless our entire stay. The staff was cheerful and very accommodating. If I had to say something negative the only thing I can think of would be maybe the bathroom was a little on the small side (but if you're not a 500kg American tourist this should not be a problem!).

    By N/a
This slightly odd pub conversion Hotel (relatively newly converted judging by interior) is situated above an Indian restaurant at the not-so-trendy Whitechapel end of Brick Lane. But this means that it is reasonably quiet and also close to Aldgate East station, Whitechapel Gallery and Spitalfields Market - Liverpool St is not far away either.

Rooms rate was under 100 quid and and room quality was good for this price, the only real gripe is the annoying green light (exit light?) in the room which kept us up. If you can't get a good rate at Ibis I would recommend this little place, especially to couples visiting London who are on a budget.
