Albany Apartments, Guernsey

The Albany Apartments were new to the Guernsey Tourist Board in 1998 and have since grown from strength to strength providing quality accommodation at fantastic prices for you and your family.

Situated on the outskirts of St Peter Port ( 10/15 minutes walk to either end of town) in its own grounds. This adds to your holiday as noise from the surrounding town and roads are non existent due to location of the property. A bus stop is situated around the corner from the Albany Apartments affording the opportunity to take advantage of the excellent bus routes that cover the full extent of the island.

For those of you bringing your own car or wishing to Hire a car you are also provided with a map covering the island showing various places of interest. Another form of transport especially popular with our Dutch guests is Bicycle Hire, giving you the opportunity to take in the excellent scenery at your own leisure.

Information regarding all the above can be found in your Albany Welcome pack that is kept in every Apartment and also at reception.

Self Catering Bungalows

The accommodation are 1 or 2 bed Apartments either on one floor or split over two levels.

The single floor apartments are on the ground level and lead straight out to the garden and pool. Apartments split over two floors are at first and second floor levels with their own balconies.

One Apartment is 2nd floor level over one floor with no balcony. Each 2 bed Apartment usually has one twin room and one double, if required Z beds are available for a small charge. The 1 bed Apartment has one double.

All kitchens come fully equipped with microwave.

Ground floor Apartments incorporate the dining table and chairs.

1st floor Apartments have the dining table in the lounge area. The lounge area is of a substantial size easily accommodating a family of four. Consisting of two settees, coffee table, side storage cabinet and TV on stand.

The Standard Apartments have bathrooms with bath/shower, basin and toilet.

The 1st floor Apartments also incorporate a downstairs W.C.

The Superior (En-suite) Apartments have either 2 separate Shower room 's or 1 Bath and 1 Shower room.

All Apartments have a storage cupboard.

FACILITIES

On arrival you will find a starter pack in your Apartment with tea, coffee, sugar and milk. All linen and towels are provided but are not for use around the pool. Cots and Z beds available (small charge) - bedding provided. Iron and Ironing board in each Apartment. Electric heating in all Apartments. Electricity included in accommodation cost. Coin operated washer and dryer - in central laundry area. Payphones situated in main reception. Ample parking. Pool table, books and videos.

Barbecue and tools available in the garden along with garden games and children's climbing frame and swing.

The Pool is a large outdoor heated swimming pool ( no lifeguard on duty).

Local Tourism
During your stay in Guernsey why not combine it with one or more trips to our neighbouring islands. Alderney is the closest of the islands to mainland France. Here you will find cobbled streets with cottages set either side in many colours. The island itself is 3.5 miles long and 1.5 miles wide with a population of 2,400. St Anne's is the capital and here you will find most of the shops, restaurants and bars. With Alderney being only 8 miles from France it comes with a very distinct French flavour, but again the people have pledged allegiance to the crown for the last 1,000 years as in Guernsey.

Sark is the smallest of the main Channel Islands but this does not reflect on its charm, as it boasts 40 miles of picturesque coastline on an island 3 miles long by 1.5 wide. On Sark there are no cars so travel is by horse and trap or on foot giving you plenty of time to take in the island.

Just off the coast directly across from St Peter Port you can find Herm, this is a delightful little island very popular with locals from Guernsey. Herm is 1.5 miles long and 0.5 miles wide, it offers beautiful beaches in a unspoilt environment and is well worth a visit.
