    I booked 2 rooms on line and was very satisfied with the whole experience. Rooms were spotless, breakfast was very good, service top rate. If I had one criticism it related to the shower which was on over bath job and a bit difficult for me to get in and out, had no shower mat, thus was very slippery when being used, and the shower mechanism itself needed attention as it fell off the wall! However this did little to detract from what was a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Will come back.

    Our stay was for my husband's birthday treat and The Station Guest House certainly helped make it a friendly and pleasant one. The staff were bright, friendly and helpful. Our room (no. 5) had great views over the station to the River Deben estuary and Sutton Hoo, nice to sit in bed and gaze out over the scene. It was cosy, confortable and warm with plenty of storage space. The en-suite was small but bright and warm. The trains didn't bother us at all, all part of the atmosphere of staying in an old Station building. Our room's decor though could do with updating - a bit too much use of brown, some bright colour to balance it would be good, perhaps introduced through brighter fabrics, duvet, curtains etc? We loved the 'Whistlestop Cafe' downstairs where a good cooked breakfast was served. Nice warm fire going too. We had lunch there one day, which was simple but nicely cooked and very good value for money. All in all, a great guest house, excellent value, in a really convenient location. We'll definitely stay again.

    This was our second stay at this delightful establishment and we were just a pleased with our stay this time as last. The room was spotlessly clean and lovely and warm, very welcome with sub-zero temperatures outside!!! We had lovely views out over the river Deben from our four poster room, and despite the building being part of the railway station we were barely aware of the trains. The breakfast, served in the adjacent cafe, was delicious and served very promptly. The Station Guest House is well situated for all the local amenities including the town centre, fantastic walks, and some fine restaurants. The staff are warm and welcoming and we recommend a stay wholeheartedly.

    This was our 2nd visit to the Station Guest House. A very nice relaxing atmosphere. Cosy room despite the freezing temperature outside. Very good breakfast. Pleasant friendly staff. Ideally situated for riverside walks and town. We can heartily recommend it. Hope to come again next year..

    Have just stayed at Station Guest House for the 3rd time and will be back again for sure. This was the first time we'd visited at this time of year....previous stays were in summer and we were able to sit outside in the sunshine for breakfast. This was not the case this time, as the weather was cold and wet, but our room was comfortably warm and the Whistle Stop cafe was cozy for breakfast. We have always had a friendly welcome from management when we've stayed : )

    Nice room, with a lovely view, and peaceful (after the last train). Plenty of storage space, and liked the one-touch bedside lights; a great idea. Lovely big TV, but being a bit of a luddite, it took me 15 minutes to work out how to turn it on (some basic instructions might be helpful - and to note that you have to press firmly on the 'on' button). Only downside was the shower - started out nice and hot, but suddenly went cold on me - brrr! Great service in the whistlestop cafe for breakfast - very smiley staff, and nothing too much trouble.

    I stayed at the Station Guest House overnight with a friend as we were visiting Woodbridge. It was very clean, well presented and comfortable and a lovely view too. The owner was very helpful and gave us recommendations for places to eat in the evening. We had a lovely meal at 'The Table' and a cocktail at the new Diner. The breakfast in the morning was very good too.

    This was a working three days to put the cover on our boat which is in the nearby marina.This is probably the fourth time we have stayed in the Station Guest House,it is comfortable,warm,convenient and friendly.The breakfast menu is superb with an excellent variable choice.     Interesting/querky building/location for an overnight stay in beautiful part of the country. Parking/rail link near by Room had nice outlook towards tidal creek with sound of wading birds very peaceful. Passing trains could be an annoyance to some, (but then you presumably wouldn't be staying at a guesthouse called 'The Station', then would you?!) Comfortable stay, good breakfast in cafe below. Friendly staff. If I'm being picky, the sash cord on the front window requied repair for the window to open properly!

    This was the most reasonable place I could find in Woodbridge for a single person and it provided everything I needed. While not luxurious, the room was well equipped and the staff very friendly and helpful. The central location was handy as I could pop back to my room during the day. My room, on the town side, was very quiet during the night. The only downside for me was the breakfast as I'm not a fan of fry-ups. The toast was good but I missed the home made jams, fruit, wider choice of cereals that you often get at a b and b.

    Having spent my childhood holidays in Woodbridge, to stay in the Station Guest House before our wedding in Melton was magical. Carla, the Director made us feel very welcome both in the guesthouse and the cafe where the breakfast was superb. The fourposter room was clean and comfortable with wonderful views of the river.     I have stayed several times at The Station Guest House, and have always found it to be excellent, very clean, with nice rooms and good, friendly service, and with lovely breakfasts in the Whistlestop Cafe. It is also in an excellent location on the railway station (and I have never experienced any noise problems from passing trains) and very handy for the beautiful river, and the lovely town of Woodbridge.

    I was pleasantly surprised. the room had lot of windows, a nice view, relatively spacious. I like the fact we got a bottle of water each and some biscuits.The staff were very friendly, especially after we woke them up i the night when we had locked ourselves out.     We were arriving late so arrangements were easily made for us, the room was spotless and comfortable with tea and biscuits greatly appreciated! Simple but adequate bathroom, amazing views and a quiet spot to stay right near the shops. The building is beautiful and we loved that we could have our window open and hear the riverbirds. Fantastic breakfast too! The only slight problem we found (and which could just be down to age and frailty) was that both beds were beautifully made up and coverered enormous sized heavy patchwork quilts which were difficult for us to manage to get off or fold up. Otherwise beds and bedding very good - even the pillows. We loved it, we will go back!

    The location is fantastic and the staff are friendly and efficient. The beautiful river is just nearby as well as the cinema, Adnams shop and plenty of cafes etc. The 'Fish and Flicks' offer at the Riverside Theatre is brilliant and only 2 mins walk from the Whistle Stop Cafe. The hot chocolate and whipped cream with mini mashmallows is a must! I can't wait to go again.

    We found this to be a comfortable and friendly guest house, and very convenient for visiting the sights of Woodbridge. We had a room that looked out over the boats on the river, which was lovely. It also looked out onto the Station platform roof, but the trains were only once an hour until 10.30pm and caused us no problem. Parking was in the pay and display carpark just outside, £2.50 for 24 hrs. The The breakfast was in the cafe downstairs, and was very good. The tourist information was just next door, and there were plenty of places to eat nearby.

    We were delighted with our stay at the Station Guesthouse. Greeted by a friendly member of staff, we were shown to our room which was small, but functional. We had a great night's sleep and weren't hurried out in the morning. Breakfast was good too, if busy because we were so late down and a coach party had arrived!     This is a very cute place to stay,very friendly and accommodating and a perfect location overlooking a marina in Woodbridge, right next to the station, because it is The Station House! Breakfast is amazing and you can have it for lunch if you want! Only drawback was a very early checkout time of 10 a.m., although the staff were flexible with letting us keep our cases in the room while we had breakfast. The lighting is poor in the room, that was our only gripe. Overall this is a great little establishment that offers fantastic value for money.

    I really liked the place, all staff were very helpful and friendly, the location is very convenient for arriving via train (it is actually IN the train station) and even though my room was overlooking the tracks it was very quite (trains only run to about 10pm and start at 6.30am, much later on Sundays !). The only slight drawback was the bed with its mattress which my back did not like too much (not very hard but the springs were noticeable). The view to the back (from rooms 3,4 and 5) - overlooking the boats in the harbour was lovely, many nice cafes, restaurants and shops within walking distance. Recommendable !

    A very convenient (especially if you come by train!) guesthouse with clean and spacious rooms. The breakfast in the Whistlestop cafe is exceptionally good and you won't need to eat again until the evening, All the staff are kind and attentive and this made my three day stay all the more enjoyable. Don't miss the chance to stay here if you are visiting Woodbridge.

    We booked this accommodation as we were visiting from overseas and were catching up with family who live in Woodbridge and Melton. Location was good and I didnt really notice or hear the trains even though the room overlooked the station. Breakfast was included and was very nice. Room was comfortable and looked out over the river.

    This Guest House is in an ideal location, adjacent to the railway station and within walking distance of both the river and shops. We have stayed several times and the service we have received is always excellent. The staff are very friendly and nothing is too much trouble.

    Welcoming staff, carried suitcase upstairs. Staff serving breakfast next day were thoughtful and attentive. Breakfast was delicious (I had a freshly-cooked omelette, fluffy and light as a feather, with grilled mushrooms and tomatoes, so not floating in fat). The breakfast menu offered a wide choice. Room had lovely view over River Deben towards Sutton Hoo. Room was warm, with adjustable heating (radiator), and was spotlessly clean, as was the en suite bathroom. Comfortable bed, and the bedlinen and towels were crisp and clean. Just one small thing: I would like to have had a slightly stronger light-bulb. Guest house was very convenient for the town and the river. The owners helpfully looked after my suitcase until I was ready to collect it at lunchtime on my day of departure. I found the whole experience of this guest house first class.

    The accomodation was very good value for money and the staff were very kind and helpfull. The only small, and I mean very small improvement that I would suggest is for an option of toast after the cooked breakfast even if you had toast with the breakfast. For the cost of one extra piece of toast it would have been perfect. It would also have been better to have had a reserved parking space as it took over 30 minutes to park, but it was a busy Saturday morning.

    I have stayed at The Station House five times in the last five years. I have stayed in three of the rooms there, and they have all been lovely, clean, comfortable rooms. The staff are very helpful, efficient and friendly, and the breakfasts in the Whistlestop cafe are excellent. I can find no fault, and will hope to stay again sometime next year. Also, for someone travelling by train this building is in an excellent position, in a lovely town.

    SGH is an unusual place to stay. Unpretentious, slightly quirky but comfortable and interesting. We had the family room with a splendid view down the Deben estuary. The station was right under our window but it was, honestly, not a problem. No night traffic, an early morning beeb from the departing train and that was it. Bed beautifully crisp and comfortable and the breakfast to die for (if you had it every day for a month)!

I had thought the trains waiting outside my bedroom window would keep me awake but they didn't & only added to the charm of the old station house.

    The management very very accommodating about my arriving late. The room was fine, clean and large enough, with a wonderful view over the estuary in the morning - the only problem was it would have been good to have a spare blanket in the wardrobe, since I was a bit cold in the night. But I'd rather that than being in a stuffy, overheated hotel room. Not distrurbed by the train in the early morning either. Good breakfast. Would go again if in Woodbridge.

    I had a few days break to visit family in Suffolk and booked the Station Guest House because it was reasonably priced. I was pleasantly surprised to find that my room had a lovely view of the river. Although trains stop at the back of the Guest House they are not really a problem. The location is excellent for getting out and about and I really enjoyed walks along the river in the evening. If I get chance to visit the area again I would definitely look into staying at the Guest House again.

    I was very impressed by the Station Guest House and thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. It was quite novel to stay on a working railway station but there were no problems with regard to the noise from the trains. The guest house is well located with easy access to the town and the nearby river walks. My room was always kept very clean and I enjoyed the use of the Freesat facility. I would certainly stay at the Station Guest House again.

    Had trouble finding it - satnav no good and website needs better directions. Room very nice but bathroom needs updating badly. Have to pay £2 per 24 hrs to park.
    Nice to have breakfast whenever you want but the full English very greasy - lovely coffee though! Friendly staff and so good to be in the heart of Woodbridge with lovely walks along the river - no need to get in the car.

    This is an ideal location for a short break exploring the town and surrounding area. The working life of the town and station doesn't disturb you, and the view from the bedroom is excellent.     Slightly qwirky guest house but very very likable. Great location, right near the riverfront and the best view we had in all the hotels we stayed in.
