Woodbridge Station Guest House is an ideal base from which to explore the delightful Suffolk countryside as it is situated just a few moments walk from the town centre and ideally located for road and rail transport links. We provided a TomTom Satellite Navigation System ready to plug into your car so you can explore the local area easily.

Wi-Fi internet is available for guests to use with their laptop computer.

All bedrooms at Woodbridge Station Guest House are en-suite with light and airy decor with an aim of creating a 'home from home' atmosphere. Facilities in bedrooms include tea & coffee making facilities and a TV, and three of the bedrooms provide stunning views over the River Deben.

Housed in what was the Woodbridge Railway Station, The Whistle Stop Cafe offers a mouth-watering selection of cakes, pastries, sandwiches, hot and cold drinks including speciality coffee. The Whistle Stop Cafe is open seven days a week from 7am-5pm weekdays and from 9am-5pm on weekends.

    I have stayed a few times at The Station Guest House in the last three years. It is excellently run, and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. The cafe is also excellently run and the breakfasts are lovely.

    Lovely views over the river, with excellent walks. Smashing breakfast which was provided early at our request. Woodbridge pretty dead on Sunday morning! Easy train links. Room was a little 'dated' but clean and comfortable.

    we enjoyed our 2 night stay comfortable room staff very helpful the chef was very good at catering for my coeliac husband the breakfasts were excellent we slept very well as it was lovely and quiet we shall return again room was basic but thats all you need would recomend it to anyone

    Welcoming staff, carried suitcase upstairs. Staff serving breakfast next day were thoughtful and attentive. Breakfast was delicious (I had a freshly-cooked omelette, fluffy and light as a feather, with grilled mushrooms and tomatoes, so not floating in fat). The breakfast menu offered a wide choice. Room had lovely view over River Deben towards Sutton Hoo. Room was warm, with adjustable heating (radiator), and was spotlessly clean, as was the en suite bathroom. Comfortable bed, and the bedlinen and towels were crisp and clean. Just one small thing: I would like to have had a slightly stronger light-bulb. Guest house was very convenient for the town and the river. The owners helpfully looked after my suitcase until I was ready to collect it at lunchtime on my day of departure. I found the whole experience of this guest house first class.

    The accomodation was very good value for money and the staff were very kind and helpfull. The only small, and I mean very small improvement that I would suggest is for an option of toast after the cooked breakfast even if you had toast with the breakfast. For the cost of one extra piece of toast it would have been perfect. It would also have been better to have had a reserved parking space as it took over 30 minutes to park, but it was a busy Saturday morning.

    I have stayed at The Station House five times in the last five years. I have stayed in three of the rooms there, and they have all been lovely, clean, comfortable rooms. The staff are very helpful, efficient and friendly, and the breakfasts in the Whistlestop cafe are excellent. I can find no fault, and will hope to stay again sometime next year. Also, for someone travelling by train this building is in an excellent position, in a lovely town.

    A cosy guest house in a very convenient position particularly for the yacht marina. The staff are welcoming and friendly and they serve up an excellent breakfast. The cinema is just next door if there is a little time to spend. An enjoyable stay.

    SGH is an unusual place to stay. Unpretentious, slightly quirky but comfortable and interesting. We had the family room with a splendid view down the Deben estuary. The station was right under our window but it was, honestly, not a problem. No night traffic, an early morning beeb from the departing train and that was it. Bed beautifully crisp and comfortable and the breakfast to die for (if you had it every day for a month)!

    The room was clean, the bed comfortable & the breakfast great. My only niggles were the lack of water pressure in the shower (room 5) and a broken shower attachment (room 2). I had thought the trains waiting outside my bedroom window would keep me awake but they didn't & only added to the charm of the old station house.

    The management very very accommodating about my arriving late. The room was fine, clean and large enough, with a wonderful view over the estuary in the morning - the only problem was it would have been good to have a spare blanket in the wardrobe, since I was a bit cold in the night. But I'd rather that than being in a stuffy, overheated hotel room. Not distrurbed by the train in the early morning either. Good breakfast. Would go again if in Woodbridge.

    Had a twin room booked for Sat 24/9/2011. On arrival,the key was immediately available,and the girl very helpful regards car parking etc..in the morning,a full breakfast was quickly served,and very good. All in all,a most enjoyable stay.

    Had trouble finding it - satnav no good and website needs better directions. Room very nice but bathroom needs updating badly. Have to pay £2 per 24 hrs to park.
    Nice to have breakfast whenever you want but the full English very greasy - lovely coffee though! Friendly staff and so good to be in the heart of Woodbridge with lovely walks along the river - no need to get in the car.

    Slightly qwirky guest house but very very likable. Great location, right near the riverfront and the best view we had in all the hotels we stayed in. Large pleasant room, bathroom a little small but fine. Would stay there again. Bfast good in cafe with optional extras. Godo value. Nice owner. Lovely walks along river to look at boats and great restauratns near by. No noise from trains as they stop at 10. All good

    I had a few days break to visit family in Suffolk and booked the Station Guest House because it was reasonably priced. I was pleasantly surprised to find that my room had a lovely view of the river. Although trains stop at the back of the Guest House they are not really a problem. The location is excellent for getting out and about and I really enjoyed walks along the river in the evening. If I get chance to visit the area again I would definitely look into staying at the Guest House again.

    I was very impressed by the Station Guest House and thoroughly enjoyed my stay there. It was quite novel to stay on a working railway station but there were no problems with regard to the noise from the trains. The guest house is well located with easy access to the town and the nearby river walks. My room was always kept very clean and I enjoyed the use of the Freesat facility. I would certainly stay at the Station Guest House again.

    This is an ideal location for a short break exploring the town and surrounding area. The working life of the town and station doesn't disturb you, and the view from the bedroom is excellent. You feel part of the working station when you take breakfast in the morning, and the staff are friendly and helpful.

    A lovely place with character. The cafe downstairs serves hearty meals and puts me in mind of the film 'Brief Encounter'. Clean and cosy bedroom with a view across the old station (very few trains and none at night) to my estuary (I'm a local). Very central.
