Clean & comfortable room. Very good facilities, excellent breakfast choices and service. Helpful, courteous and generous hosts. My only adverse comment relates to the lack of communication facilities in a single occupancy room - for health and safety reasons (hence my 'rooms' rating). Whilst double occupancy has one occupant to care for the other, a single occupant has not this option. This is neither a criticism or a complaint, merely a honest observation. Even with this failing, I would choose the Edelweiss should I return to the I.o.M. My thanks and gratitude to both Shirley and Alex for helping to make my stay the more memorable.

I stayed in the Edelweiss for one night as I was catching the early morning ferry from Douglas the next day. I was able to leave my bags there when I arrived and then checked in later on. As I was leaving before breakfast I was given a form to fill in stating what I would like for my packed breakfast and was very impressed at the choice including a sandwich for my lunch later on. The room was quite small but well appointed and had a lovely view of the beach. Later on I could hear the sea coming in from my bedroom which was lovely. My bed was comfortable and the shower nice and powerful. In the morning I picked up my packed breakfast and lunch a little after 6am and was given a cheerful farewell. Although my stay was short it was very enjoyable and made my last night in the Isle of Man very good.

Hotel was chosen due to its location during the Heritage Transport Festival. For that it was excellent. Our only reservation was the lack of shower as my husband cannot use a bath anymore - maybe we should have checked this out more thoroughly before booking.

This guest house lives up to the song of its name: 'Edelweiss, Edelweiss Every morning you greet me Small and white, clean and bright You look happy to meet me.' The welcome was excellent - even at 10.30 p.m., breakfasts superb, room comfortable and everything spotless and clean. We appreciated being able to leave our cases after check out before returning to the ferry. We came as foot pasengers so cannot comment on parking facilities. It was a little further out of town than expected, which made finding a place to eat in the evening a little difficult, but this meant that one was farther from more noisy areas. Although it did not affect us personally, there was sometimes a lack of space in the dining room, which meant that some guests had to wait a little while but the breakfasts are worth waiting for. Our thanks to Shirley and Alex for a wonderful stay, 'may you bloom and grow'.

Our enjoyment of our four-day visit to the Isle of Man was very much enhanced by where we stayed. The Proprietors made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived until our departure. We had a late afternoon flight back to London but we were able to leave our luggage at the Hotel and enjoy a last trip on the electric tram. Overall a great place to stay when in Douglas. We'll definitely be back soon.

I stay on the Isle of Man at least six times a year through my work. I always prefer smaller establishments and the Edelweiss ticked all the boxes I needed in that it had free WI-FI, is located in central Douglas and their rates are very reasonable. I arrived fairly late but this was not a problem for the very pleasant and friendly owners. My room was immaculately clean with everything I needed. The breakfast was delicious with a large choice available. I would highly recommend the Edelweiss to anyone and where I will be staying next time I am on the Island.
