Ideally located in the heart of Reading town centre, Crown Lodge Guest House is just a quick five minute walk from the middle of the town, where you will find shopping facilities such as the Oracle shopping centre and Broad Street Mall, a variety of restaurants, pubs and clubs, and many popular tourist attractions.     My stay at Crown Lodge was a very short one - I arrived at 10pm and had left by 7am the next morning. Due to my early departure I was to miss breakfast, but the hotelier was very proactive in ensuring I had fruit and cereal to eat in my room prior to my departure. My room was comfortable although small and had all the basics I could require. If I had any complaints then it would be that the extractor fans in the other guests rooms could be heard in my room and I was awoken on three separate occasions during the night when other guests rose for the bathroom or for a shower - which was a shame as this spoiled an otherwise welcoming and accommodating service.

    2 night stay on business in a superior single room. Room well presented, Unlike some hotels I have stayed recently on business, the room appeared to be decorated recently, and the shower actually works. Little or no noise from other guest rooms (except from noise from an adjacent room's shower). Good car parking at rear. Breakfast is good.

    For the price we paid there cannot be to many moans or groans, but i was a little worried about the milk as it was heavy out of date (6 months) was like jelly and the fact the the shower was as big as the boot in my Vauxhall Corsa.
    Saying that the manager could not have been more helpful and kind during our visit!
    And it was only 3-5 minute walk to the main Bars & Clubs.
