A very friendly family welcome awaits you at the historic Covenanters' Inn. Run by Louise and Douglas Harrison, the Inn is located in the small country village of Auldearn, just 2 miles from Nairn between Inverness (capital of the Highlands) and the historic town of Elgin in Moray. It is an ideal location from which to explore the magnificent scenery of the North and West Highlands, Moray, Speyside, the Cairngorms and Aberdeenshire. Whether you are here for the history, the whisky or the outdoor life, there's something for everyone!

We pride ourselves on being a family establishment and our daughters, Claire and Laura, are often on hand to greet guests and meet their children.

If you are wondering about the name - it originates from the great Battle of Auldearn in 1645 between the Covenanters and the Marquis of Montrose. In these times, the original part of the Inn was the Mill and Brewhouse for the people of the area. Today, the Highlands are far more welcoming and we look forward to meeting you!

Accommodation

The Covenanters' Inn offers 14 comfortable bedrooms (double, twin, triple and family rooms) all with en-suite facilities, colour TV, direct-dial telephone and central heating. One bedroom has been adapted for disabled guests. All rooms are on the ground floor.

We also have a self-catering chalet available.

Dining

On offer at Covenanters Inn is a wide range of food which can be enjoyed in a variety of surroundings. Start off your day with a nutritious vegetarian breakfast served at the inn. Lunch and dinner are served in the friendly and casual Kiln Lounge where you will find a menu of both local and international specialties as well as daily specials. Relax in the Kiln Lounge Bar which is situated in the 'mill' section of the building and sample one of the many Scottish whiskies.

Local Attractions

We are ideally situated for touring northern Scotland. In the reception area there is an abundance of information about local tourist attractions and events. If you need any help in planning days out, Douglas will be only too pleased to assist. He keeps up-to-date on where the Moray dolphins and Nessie have been sighted most recently!

Covenanters Inn is rated 4 out of 5 stars based on 2 guest reviews.
